Wheel Bearing Dust Seals?

Getting prepared to do wheel bearing service for the first time on our 2015 23FB.

Can anyone verify the size / part number for the dust seals I will need?

Two options:
1. My first choice - The guys at ODM can tell you everything you need to know about your trailer, they have the parts in stock, and they will ship the parts to you quickly. The last seals I bought there were very reasonably priced, less expensive than the local auto parts store.
2. After removing the wheel and brake hub you will see there is a number printed on the metal portion of the seal. An automotive store can cross reference those numbers and give you whatever they have in stock. All seals are not the same quality, so be careful. (make sure it has a double seal)

I would avoid Chinese made wheel bearings and order Timken USA made from Amazon.

Most auto parts stores stock Chinese made bearings only

If this is a new Airstream it has sealed bearings which do not need servicing. The brakes are also self adjusting. Read the axle information in your owner brochure kit and it will explain what you have

And if your Dexter owners manual is like mine, Airstream put the tags with the serial number on them in the manual. You can call Dexter's customer service and they can tell you what kind of bearings and seals you need from those numbers. If you take the wheel off and see something that says neverlube you have the cartridge style bearing, which is a sealed ball bearing. Hope this helps. Mike

Thanks for the replies above.

My trailer and all the manuals are in storage at the moment and I live in a neighborhood with restrictive covenants. I am severely limited as to how much time I can have my trailer on my driveway for maintenance. That's why I needed to round up all these parts before I begin to take the wheels apart.

I just verified what I need with Justin at Dexter Parts Online (very helpful!) http://www.dexterpartsonline.com

The Airstream part number, for the grease seal on my trailer is #680370-100. This cross-references to a Dexter 10-36 seal which is the so-called "blue seal" which has a blue ring around the edge, a double flare, a spring in it and has metal on both sides.

Apparently, our 2015 23FB is a bit of an "odd duck" axle wise. It has 3000# rated axles with a mixture of light and heavy duty axle parts, 10" drums with 5 lug hubs. Unlike many modern Airstreams, my axles have the old-fashioned bearings that require periodic service.
