Hi Steve H,
I have a 1971 Caravel. It has 15" tires, (I use 7.00x15" trailer rated tires) on a six lug styled wheel, with the 5 1/2 inch lug pattern. I hope this helps.

Thanks Kevin. That's what I was looking for, and what I was thinking. Just did not know if trailers that old used the same size wheel with the same size bolt pattern as the newer ones.

Steve.
The correct wheel is 15 inch, with 6 holes, zero offset, and, rated at 2600 pounds each.
Ford and Chevy whhels look the same, but they are far removed from what you need.
The Radial tire size, is ST 225 R 75 / 15. Airstream has used the Goodyear Marathons for many years.
You should also use load range "D" tires.
If you use load range "E", you will punish the soft ride that your Airstream must have.
Since you have a single axle Airstream, make sure your axle is in good condition.
The following article will teach you how to check it out, in about 30 seconds without taking anything a part.

Andy,
Thanks, but I was asking because of a unit that was for sale, and had no spare. I needed to take a spare with me if I bought it, but I decided to pass, and did not bid. The trailer needed three panels replaced, maybe four, and that is the reason I let it go.
Thanks again,
Steve

69 and up quarter panels and segemnts run a little over $1000.00 each to replace.
If the price is right, then replacing sheet metal is justified.
Of course some owners look at body damage as "beauty marks."
San Antinio is where I started with the Airstream program back in 1966, wth a dealer that was on Austin Highway, across from Howard Johnson's motel, just north of loop 410.
Those were the simple days.

Yes, I'm aware of that, and the price that it went for would not support another 3-$4K, IMHO.

Yes Andy, you've told me that before. My Father probably bought a trailer or two from that dealership when you worked there. The dealership is no longer in existance, or at least no longer at that location. It is now a motorcycle dealer.
