Spare Tire. What is a good rim?

I have been needing to get a new spare tire and rim for my 25'ss Safari and I am wondering what is a good type of rim to get?Are the steel ones ok?I called camping world to see what they said about there steel rims and they told me that these are made for just small opened work trailers not campers. Why would they be a camping store and tell me something like this and sell these items or is it because my Airstream is to big for the rim.Where can I get a rim that can handle the burden as a regular tire and rim until I could replace the original one when I get to my destination. As some of you know I will be traveling quite a bit during the winter months around the southeast area so I am just trying to get ready for anything suprising on my travels.
Thanks All.Any help is greatly appreciated.

an airstream dealer should have steel rims to fit your trailer.

if you have aluminum wheels now you may need an extra set of lug nuts to mount a steel wheel as they are different.

Try Southwest Wheel.com, They have new modular wheels mounted with Goodyear Marathons for $99.95.

I went to a local work trailer dealer and supply store to get the new steel rims I will use for mine. They are 2600lb rated and OEM style for use with hubcaps. They were only $40 each. They are available on line but the shipping was a deal killer.

lug nuts

"if you have aluminum wheels now you may need an extra set of lug nuts to mount a steel wheel as they are different."

My '03 Safari SS came with a steel wheel spare and the lug nuts on the aluminum wheels have the tapered seat so should work with the steel spare.

Spare

Finally got one.It turned out pretty good because the rims they sell are galvanized and have the 2500lb rating. Also got the Marathon Goodyear Tire on there today as well. All in all I paid about $180 for everything. That includes balance and everything else.
