Question on 16s .....

Quick question for those who have gone to 16's.
How many years will you run the tires on the trailer? I guess the general rule for ST tires is ~5 years. What about LT tires?

Just noticed that nobody responded to your post...

Unfortunately, LT tires will probably succumb to age the same as ST tires, in 5-7 years; maybe a bit longer under ideal (indoor) storage conditions. However, the big difference is what happens during that time.

It appears from the posts on this site that it's likely that many of the ST tires will be replaced prematurely in 2-3 years, because of tread separation or blowouts; while the majority of LT tires will be replace due to age, with much of their original tread remaining.

Personally, I'd rather throw out a tire with tread left on it after 5 or 6 years of worry-free driving, than have a blowout on the highway every two years, which is what I had done since we bought our Bambi (new) in 2005.
