Original Rims for a 1953 Flying Cloud

Hi All,

I'm in the process of restoring a 1953 Flying cloud. I was wondering if any one has any pictures of what the rims looked like. Did they have baby moons? or where they painted a plane color. I know for a fact the ones on there now are not the originals. They are to different styles. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Take a look here -- 53FC. Each folder at the upper left represents a different '53 Flying Cloud in their photo archives. There are quite a number of moon hubcaps. This doesn't answer the "original" question with certainty. Anyone?

If you go to Vintage Airstream Photo Archives you will see many pictures of your year and model trailer. Various types of wheels and wheel covers are shown.

Thanks for the links. It looks like from the photos, the half moons are very popular. Does any one know if these are still available?

Yes, many auto shops carry them. We picked ours up new at our local hardware store, of all places!

If you do not find any locally post back and we could get you a link to internet sites that sell them.
