new, with plenty of questions

I have a 71 caravel that I am giving serious thought to repair, restore, re-furbing. That said, I need to start by moving it and need replacement wheels as the originals are rusted. Priced em through Colonial in JRZ and a set was over a grand. I am in VA the AS is in PA and I want to work on it in JRZ. Any thoughts

Well first of all you need to make sure what the bolt pattern is. On most trailers it is 6 bolts on a 5.5" bolt center. I expect it is also a 6" wide 15" diameter rim. The smaller trailers may be different. Rims are common and should not cost you over $50 for steel and a little over $100 for aluminum. I can get a tire and steel rim around here for $100. Go and look at your tires and see what size they are and let us know.

What sort of rims where they quoting you? They must have been titanium with gold plating for over $1000.
