Does a 7:00 x 15" tire require a wheel that is 7 x 15 or can you use a 6 x 15 wheel??

Thnak you.

Tires in general are wider than the wheels they go on. The sidewalls are wider than the bead. I should think it'd be fine to run tires 1" wider than the rim width. If I'm not mistaken, my own trailer originally used the 7.00x15 size tire and my rims are 6" wide.

For this, I would ask the place where I bought the tires for the acceptable widths of wheels.

5.5x15 is minimum size for a 7.00x15 tire, according to my records.
