New(old) 1962 22' Safari

Hi all!
Just bought a 1962 Safari. It has been sitting in a field next to the owners house for 10-12 years. It's like a time capsule. Everything there and very few man tracks. Tires are amazingly not too bad and I do have a spare.
Problem: I need to tow it 300 miles to home base.
Plan A: Remove tires, pull hubs apart, clean and inspect bearings, back off brakes, repack bearings, add tires, cross fingers.
Any advice from you guys who know what the heck your doing?

Welcome to the forums Tim.

I'd definitely put new tires on it (can't tell from your post if that was the plan). Personally, I'd not get too far into bearings as it might be hard to come up with the proper grease seal. You'll want lights and the easiest way is to take a set of magnetic temporary towing lights with you along with enough wire and a new 7 way plug.

No mention of your tow vehicle so I'd just assume you have a brake controller on it and a 7 way socket for your lights. The trailer should take a 2" ball.
