Silverhoot:

No trim rings, just the full coverage hub caps, I wanted them to cover the full wheel to protect it from the elements. What a difference they make huh!

This is the link to where I got them:

Smoothie Hubcaps 15 inch

Nice...just what I got on our Trade Wind. I wanted to find the moon 'caps' but one of my wheels doesn't have the clips to fasten the caps to. The moon wheel covers are the same kind that I had on my first car a '48 Ford back in '54. Cool I was . Still am .

Did the baby moons clip on the nubs or did you have clips on your wheels?

Thanks Kevin!

Neil, I got these after I saw yours!

BwaySteve, although I do have the 6 clips on the inside of the wheel for the smaller baby moon (6" dia.) I opted for this style because it covered the wheel from the elements plus I personally prefer the look of the "smoothies". I did have to squeeze each tab on the hub caps a little with a pliers before I pushed them on and I also used some rubber mallet "persuasion" around the very edges.

Hi Jezi,
How about a report on how these baby moons are working out? Do they still look good and do they stay secure to the wheel? Have you lost one yet?

Mike, Here is an update:

We have travelled thousands of miles so far on them. They still look beautiful! I have to admit when I 1st put them on they made the trailer look less shiney than it is because they are absolutely mirror! Now they have some dirt on them so they match her! The 1st few rest stops I was counting hubcaps to make sure I still had 4! Why do I do that?

Definately glad I bought them!

Hi Steve,
I ordered these from HubcapMike.com. Cost is about $80 for 4, but I bought 5 to have a spare on hand. The smoothie moons don't need a ring. Its just a cap that covers about 80-90% of your wheel. I'm going to paint the outer ring on my wheels white or a robin's egg blue to give it a little color.

I'd say about 1 1/2 inches.

Here is a pic of my Baby moons. I will see about getting a closer pic later. I really like the way they look and have gotten several comments on them. I put them on last year and when I started cleaning her up for this season I noticed that they had started to rust and pit. I was able to clean them up with some chrome cleaner and put about 3 coats of wax on them. Since then all I have had to do is wash the dirt off. I will put a few more coats of wax on them right before I put her away for the winter and see how they servive then.

Good Idea, Ill wax mine too. The finish is still really super on mine, just a nice coat of road dirt. Mike, looks great, that is a super idea to paint that last inch a color, robins egg blue! Post another picture if you decided to paint that last inch of wheel!
