Lug nut torque for aluminum wheels?

I bought some aluminum wheels from Airstream, same as are used on the 2011 Classic Limited trailers, to replace some old steel wheels on my '79. Also got the closed end lug nuts.

With the old steel wheels, lug nut torque was 90 - 95 ft. lbs. Any difference for the aluminum wheels?

I also noticed that the aluminum wheels don't leave much clearence around the lug nuts. You can get a deep socket on them but not a standard 4-way lug wrench.

Any special thin-wall lug wrenches available or just use a socket and long handled breaker bar? Is using an air impact wrench use okay?

I use 95 ft lb on the lug nuts on my aluminum wheels.

I have not been able to find a tire cross that will fit and the mismatch is large enough I don't want to try to grind it down. I carry a breaker bar and socket.

An impact wrench is fine for removal but shouldn't be used for installation. Even with the special torque-limiting sockets the results are too unpredictable.

For quite a few years the torque was 120 lbs. During the 2008 model year Airstream changed wheel suppliers and the torque was supposed to be 110 on those. When I got 16" wheels through Airstream I was told 110 for those. I found somewhere on the Airstream website the information about when in the 2008 model year they changed the torque. The owner's manual for 2008 still said 120.

I use an impact wrench to remove them. I use my fingers and Torque wrench and deep well socket to put them on.
