Lug Nut Torque?

OK, I made the move to Sendel 16" wheels and the Michelin LTXs. The existing wheels and tires are sold and I'm awaiting the delivery of the new wheels and tires. Question: How much torque do you use for the lug nuts? searched the archives, but was unsuccessful.

Thanks,

I bought the Sendel wheels from Tredit and they recommended 120 lbs. I thought that might be excessive since I think the original Airstream wheels were torqued at 80 lbs. I split the difference and torqued to 100 lbs. I've been through two seasons and all seems well.

I just checked some threads from my discussion of going from 15" to 16" wheels a couple of years back and Airstream recommended 110 lbs on the Eddie Bauer's wheels which is what I have. As it ended up I did torque to 110.

I torque my lug nuts to 95 ft lbs. That is what my owners manual states. And I re-torque every 1000 miles or so. I have found them below torque a few times.

The 2013 25FB International had a torque value of 110 foot pounds for the aluminum wheels.

I agree with Jack. I have seen the same numbers. I torqued my new 16" Ultra wheels with Michelins to 125 ft lb . I pulled the '02 Classic to Omaha for new lettering and checked when I returned from about a 50 mi. round trip. I had only 1 lug nut that moved a bit before the wrench clicked. That's a good sign but I will check them often as we travel to Bonita Springs, FL Tuesday.

I pull brand new forest river campers from the factory and they use 16" sendel wheels that we are required to check torque before we pull off the lot. They are to be torqued to 120 ftlb. We have to torque before we pull off the lot then at 25 miles, 50 miles, and 100 miles. Amazing how many times I have had to retorque multiple times.

Thank you one and all for the answer to my question. I've belonged to several forums related to me years of sailing and I have to say that this forum and the participants exceed any in my past. I hope that in my small way as time goes on I can be helpful to others as you guys are to me.

This is a good forum. Response times are better in the winter when our Airstreams are sitting in the cold , the north wind is howling, and we are huddled around the hot stove with nothing to do. The sailing picture reminds me of summer! Good times ahead.
