Lug nut story

This is why we should not buy cheap lug nuts. Apparently the PO either used a short wall socket or did not seat the socket fully in the attempt to loosen the lug. Replaced with solid lug. Sorry, forgot to do the attachment

Looks like the stock Airstream lug with flimsy shiny cover.

Looks like the stock ones I just took off my trailer. Replaced them all with new solid lug nuts.

Which solid lug nuts did you get and where did you get them? I'm sick of dealing with the flimsy OEM Airstream lug nuts that torn up sp easily.

Brian, The McGard 64010 are the closest I've found to the original. They are very well made.

Thanks, Michael. I just ordered 6 sets (24) of the McGard 64010's on Amazon. As careful as I have been, I have already buggered up one of New Lucy's OEM lug nuts. The last thing I need is a bad lug nut while trying to change a tire in the middle of nowhere.

Those cheap lug nuts are just another of Thor's cost cutting measures.

Those are the same chintzy lug nuts that came new on Old Lucy in 2005. Thor has been using junk for a long time.

I'm glad to see that several fellow streamers were motivated to change the lug nuts as I have.

Happy trails,
