I knew I had a bent wheel during last trip so rotated the spare into that position. Now after inspection I discovered 4 of my 9 steel 19.5 steel rims are bent, have wobble side to side. The clipper 34 is new to me for about a year. Previous owner bought it new in 1996 but got old and did little maintenance. Looks like he slammed over a few road items as well.
Best price for a new rim I found to be about $200 delivered.
So I've embarked on straightening them myself.
It's been awhile since I have done this. Maybe 18 years. And nothing larger than a car 15" steel wheel.
Here's the process. Work with "outer" wheel side. Spin wheel on hub and mark high spot/run out with chalk. Remove wheel. Place flat on ground. With a large heavy long handle mallet, strike mounting flange on side opposite of chaulk mark. don't get carried away. go in steps. put back aon hub and repeat until you get tired of trying to be perfect 'cause it is a heavy bitch of a wheel tire assembly and 10 lugs to tighten and remove so much
got alot out. not perfect. not as good as I have done with car wheels. will report back after awhile.
