Bearing grease seals

Hi all - I'm about to service the bearings on my 2008 17 ft Safari Sport with the 10" drum. The grease seal is Airstream part 680377. Does anyone have the equivalent part number in National or Timken (or any other seal manufacturer)? Would like to have the part in hand before doing the job.

The TCM 21325TB is a good double lip seal. Take one out and go down to Napa and buy the best double lip seal with the stainless steel springs in them.

What is the OD and ID of the seal? Most seals are sized according to load rating of the axel. My seals are 3.376 OD and 2.25" ID. Yours maybe smaller. You want the double lip seals. They were generic on the older Airstreams. I think they were less than $4 each at a local trailer supply place that also manufactures trailers. Most decent size towns will have a place that builds trailers. The same seal at an Autoparts store will cost you $20.

found electric leads to my brake magnets broken - I placed an ohm meter across the lead to the magnet and found a direct short - is this normal or are the magnets shorted out?

You will find a very low resistance across your brake magnet wires, which may look like a "direct short" but probably is not. However, if in doubt, replace them, safety is most important in brakes.

Sailor-d, I just went to my local NAPA and gave them the Timken number and specs shown on you pic. They crossreferenced to the Timken 473336 waa a 1.719 x 2.565 x 0.0315". I don't think it's the same> Now I'm at a loss as to whwere to get mine.
