First time owner. Towing her home from WI to CA in June. (You're probably a new member if you didn't already know that!)

The axles are good, owner said he looked underneath and they are at a negative angle, or whichever one was the good angle. New tires definitely needed. No problem, owner says there's a good dealer down the road who can help us.

He also said we definitely need new wheels, but maybe he meant only tires. If he meant wheels, which ones are good for that year? Is there a size difference, like the tire size? (Sorry, that's probably a dumb question)

I'd like to be armed with information and price differences so we don't make a bad decision on the fly out there so far from home, if we suddenly need to buy 4 new wheels. I want those baby moons...which ones take the baby moons? Places to price online would help too.

Also, what's the difference between a "wheel" and a "rim"?

And that game with the funny shaped brown ball...is that baseball?

Terms: Rims = wheels

If you have to get new rims, most likely it is cause the rim is a split type. IE: the rim is more than one piece, and I would recomend replacing for many reasons. Or the single piece rim has a leak, is the wrong size or is bent. Other that I can think of no functional reason to replace the rim.

As far as getting baby moons to work. Now you need a rim that will accept them. Or go here http://www.wheelvintiques.com/ and see if you can get a cap to fit. Click wheel, then click cap. - Good luck on that venture.

I forgot to answer you wheel size Q.

Wheels are measured by outside diameter. Yours are likely 15"

And

Width from outside of the rim to the inside of the rim. Yours is likely 7"

And

Wheel offset. Where the vertical center of the wheel is in relationship to the vertical center of the tire. I do not know this data.

And finally

The capacity of the wheel is important. Some wheels are stronger than others. If the load capacity is too low than you have the possibility of having a bad day when towing. (wheel failure) The spec here is 2600#'s.

a search would reveal that it's a 6-lug pattern, 15X6, 2600lb wheel. Offset is "0". You need ST Radial tires, size 225/75R15, or bias ply in the size 7x15. Minimum load range is "C" . The bias ply tires often are labeled LT tires, because that's what they used in the old days. Radials definitely should be labeled ST, for Special Trailer use.
You will also find many sources for baby moon hub caps, and new wheels if you do a search on the subject.
