1959 28' Amdassador and split rim wheels

I have a 1959 28' Amdassador and I need to get rid of the split wheels and old tires. Any suggestions on what wheels and tires I should be considering for replacements. Also I understand that the leaf springs may need to be replaced. All suggestions are welcome.

The steel wheels must be rated for at least 2600 pounds, 15 inch x 6 inches wide and with a bolt pattern of 6 holes on a 5 1/2 bolt circle, with a zero offset.

Leaf springs have a longer service life than torsion rod springs. So you might save some money and inspect the springs for broken leaves and ride height of trailer before just replacing the springs.

Wow... Great advice from you guys. Now I will start shopping for steel wheels and 225 X 75 X 15 tires. Once I get these on I will be able to get under the camper to inspect the leaf springs. Now if they are broken or sagging what should I do?

Replace if broken.

Just report back in a new thread what you find.
