We recognize # as pound, number, or a tic-tac-toe board. Where in the world did "hashtag" come from? What in the world is a "hashtag"?

I don't care enough to have read it yet, but here's the scoop.

I'll probably read it later, but until then you will now more about it than I.

Hashtag - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I thought hashtags had to do with Twitter. That is the sum total of my knowledge about Twitter. All I know about Facebook is that it started to rate coeds and then the guys who started it got rich except for some twins.

How about hashbag—a bag to keep your stash in.
Hashhag—a worn out waitress in a diner who serves the other kind of hash.
Hashnag—a worn out race horse about to go to France to be made into hash served in the French version of a diner.

Maybe we should talk about tires.

I guess it goes along with "social media" in general.

I think it's time to start our own anti-social media. Then you could use which ever suits your mood. The pinnacle of participation in our Anti-social media would be not reading or posting to it.

Does the fact that apparently we've been using improper phraseology mean the whole thread needs to be deleted? or have we?

What have we really been talking about?

Why didn't the Brits straighten out the English language before they sold it to us? I wonder how many pounds (or feet?) we paid for the rights to use it.

And on the other end of the body, we have pound head.

Ken
Good read ... what about torque variation when wiping dust off the threads (using an oily rag) is that still considered dry torque value - as I asked before?
And, what is the variation in torque values if measured cold (as in it is freezing outside right now) vs checking in the summer at 75+ degrees F.?

Don't look now, but Air Forums is a form of social media. Social Knowledge, LLC, which operates this forum, is a consortium of social media websites. So I'm just saying that we shouldn't be too critical (although I often am critical myself. Besides, I don't belong to any of the hashtag societies. I'm 65 and I just don't relate to them very well.

Starting reading the "which hitch should I use threads?"
They sound pretty antisocial to me.

Ken

P.S. I have adjusted over the years to the fact that some (perhap even most) people just don't get my sense of humor.

AirForums is simply social media for alumaholics.
