Actually they raise the trailer about 1/2" which in my case makes it tow almost perfectly level with the new tow vehicle... I'm not going to say my way is the best way, but we think it is a much better situation, as like you, I tow in Hot weather in FLA a couple of time a year...ST tires don't seem to like hot roads....
I'd love to see some pix!

Countrysong,

Where did you obtain the Sendel wheels? They look great.

I love the 'split spoke' style. It's a much newer style that provides a fresh look. They also often refer to them as an 'S5'.

Great wheels! The look great on your rig!

Lucy is headed to the Mothership.

We decided to do it! We have an appointment for Lucy at Jackson Center on November 8th.

We are going to replace Lucy's 15" wheels and ST tires with 16" wheels and Michelin LT E's.

After doing all the pricing for wheels, tires, mounting, balancing, etc., we decided to go to JC and have it done correctly.

We also have a fresh water tank mystery to be handled while Lucy is there.

I am not aware that Jackson Center does any running gear balancing.

I second Andy's comment on balancing. From personnel experience Jackson does not have the capacity to alien axles, a service they offer, and I doubt they could effectively balance tires. I would go to a Good tire shop for the tires and the wheels.

Before you have the Es mounted check the inflation pressure against this chart to get the proper pressure.

http://www.goodyear.com/truck/pdf/da...dInflation.pdf

The chart is Goodyear but Federal Standards require that all manufacture rate the same per a given tire size so it will work for other manufactures.

Are you suggesting that I go elsewhere to get Lucy's wheels and tires replaced? If so, where?

Many cities have good tire and wheel shops.

Get those replaced, balance the tire and wheel, add Centramatics and your done.

Just make sure that the back side of the wheels have at least 10 inch flat surface.

Hi Brian

Got my wheels from

Trailer Tires and Wheels - trailer tires, boat trailer tires, trailer wheels, boat trailer wheels, aluminum trailer wheels

at $105.00 each and took them to my tire shop for the Michelins Es.

The wheels I use are the 9th ones down on the page. they are 3600 lbs rated wheels.

Hope you are home in time for The Can Opener.

Howie,

I looked on that wheel site. The ninth one down is $105, but it's an 8 lug pattern with -8mm offset, rated at 3960#
