Which spring bars for vintage trailer?

My 66 Overlander weighs around 4200 pounds and has a specified tongue weight of 400 per Airstream

For a smaller SUV-- Chevy Trailblazer.. what weight bars would you use?
I am thinking 1000 would be too stiff.

I know this has been discussed but I would like to hear from those who tow 60's Airstreams that may be similar.

Thanks ...getting ready to order the Pro series wd hitch on Friday!

Alansd,

I also have a 66 Overlander, depending on the TV I use different bars. If I'm pulling with my 1962 Ford Galaxie or my 1968 Travelall (very long backside past the rear wheels) I'll use the 1,000 pound bars, on my Ford Excursion 600 pound bars. I'm thinking 600 if you have the head set correctly, maybe 800 at the most.

Enjoy,

I ordered 600 lb bars with the Pro series set up from etrailer. Adjustable height shank which was important for my application.
