I know, right. I was just laying them on the ground under the tongue or laying them in the bed of the truck. Neither was a satisfying option. Gotta luv the forum....I see the pics made it so I may have learned something else too...how to post pictures.

I didn't have a clue! For years have been putting them in the back of my Yukon or on the ground under the front of the trailer.

Me needer! You learn something new every day. I've just been carefully tossing them under the A-from or front of the trailer!

The pix turned out fine.
Were the bars pretty stable mounted that way?
I wouldn't want them to fall and crease the stream.
It looks pretty stable from the pix.
I'm glad Overlander63 brought this to our attention.

Bluto,
Yes they are very stable. They do move a bit but I think if the two chains were pulled together and linked with a small clip they would not move at all. Pretty clever storage technique actually.

I never knew what that hole in the end of the trunion bar was for .... pretty neat! but I think I'll still keep putting the bars in the back of my pickup. They're lots less likely to wander off when they're out of sight and locked up, methinks.

Roger-
You got me thinking about where to store our bars (we have an Easy Lift). One more of your great ideas to borrow/steal and a new project for Dave. Got to keep the guy busy.

Thank you for the feed back, I like the idea too! After using this type of bar for 24 years I finally learned a convenient way to store them.

Now this is cool! I always stored my bars in a compartment on the side near the back. Stored (and locked) all my hitch stuff there. Kept it out of the weather and sight. I'm going to have to remember this when I go back to a trailer.

Thanks!
