What size ball is the proper size for towing an airstream?

Most require a 2 5/16" ball. But there are some which require a 2" ball. If you use a 2" ball where a 2 5/16" ball is required. You could lose the trailer. It would be nearly impossible to get a 2 5/16" ball into a 2" coupler. And you certainly would not be able to latch the coupler over the larger ball.

I am hoping to buy a 1964 19 foot Globe Trotter. I have a 2" ball on my van now, but I want to be prepared when I get to the new trailer.

Unless changed by a prior owner, the coupler is 2". The change to 2 5/16" occurred in 1969 with the body style change.

I have a 61 Ambassador that only had a 2" ball when I got it. (First thing I did was changed it over to 1 5/8).
I am missing one of the Weight Distribution arms, it appears to be original with the trailer. EVERYTHING is there, besides one arm assembly.
Any thoughts on where I can find one would be greatly appreciated.
