Weight Distribution Bars

I have a Reese round bar WD system and can't seem to get the bars to level with enough tension. I can easily hook up the bars to level, but it doesn't feel like there's any weight being carried. When there's tension, the bars tend to ben upwards and not certain if that's correct. The ball and trailer are pretty level when hitched too. Any suggestion?

Use your tongue jack to lift up back of truck,then connect bars,after you play with it a few times ,you just need to count links to get it right.Dave

So, I hitch up, raise the tow vehicle up a little, attach the bars with a little or no tension? Then lower the truck....

I've used a bar to lift up and the bars seemed to bend upwards. Is that normal. When I've attached it with the bars level, there doesn't seem to be enough tension lifting up. Will this technique you're suggesting help?

Sounds to like like your saying the bars need more tension when they are level. To do that you need to angle your ball more. That will make the bars hang down more so there will be more tension on them when level. Loosen the bolts at the hitch and angle the ball some, then re-tighten the bolts. you will have to do this a few times to get the right angle so there enough tension on your bars being level.
