Mercy, I had no idea that a post regarding hitches and associated equipment would create such a stir. We had the heavy lifting of the remodel on our AS done by Sutton RV in Eugene, OR; they carry Husky Centerline products and convinced us to go that route. Regardless of having that equipment installed, we ultimately determined that our 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy Avalanche pick-up is not adequate to haul the AS from Portland, OR to Medora, ND so we contracted with a trucker to haul it out there and it worked well for us and was worth it. My husband caravaned out with the trucker on the 2-day trip and then had a truck full of equipment and gear to get everything set up.
Our next challenge is to get the on-demand water heater system functioning correctly. Sutton performed repair work on the system and said it was operating properly and now that the trailer is in place we've discovered that is not the case. Unfortunately, the trailer was gutted and this issue should have been completely addressed at that time. So now the trailer is totally put back together, the entire trailer is skirted, and we have no hot water (max. 1-2 minutes). My husband is trying to gain adequate access w/o tearing the entire bathroom apart to check all of the valves, wiring, connetions, etc. and it is a major pain in the south side...he's not a happy camper. Any thoughts on this issue?
Obviously I'm new to the AS Forums, this morning was the first notification I received that there was any response to my original post. Is there a setting in my profile that I need to change to receive timely notifications? It is great to have a supportive AS community for newbies like us, I've had several responses to a couple of other posts I've made on a different forum and appreciate the the helpful comments.
Many thanks,
BajaBabe
