Trunnion style vs Round bar WD Hitch ?

Are there any pros or cons to the round bar and trunnion style hitches ? Performance advantages of either ? Thanks Davis

The round ones are usually WD only. Trunion ( I am assuming cam style) have some Anti-Sway characteristics.

Round bar hitches can not have self centering characteristics of Dual cam type sway control but can be used with frictional sway dampener devices. Round bars are usually used for lighter hitch weights. They are usually cheaper.

And, round bars are usually recognised as better riding than square bars...not as "harsh".

The trunnion bars have more ground clearance and are easier to install in the head.

trunnion style will not fall out when under way if there is a retainer failure.

Also, the trunnions are easier to store, and lighter in weight. I am not particulalry fond of my round bars.
