Check the loaded weight of the trailer. If it's < 6,000 lb don't panic. Based on guessing the trailer weight, It does sound like you have something big and heavy in the back end of the trailer. That's not really where you want to have weight. Having it there degrades the stability of the trailer. I would not add ballast as much as identify the (maybe) couple hundred pounds of whatever and either jettison it or move it forward.
Again, this based entirely on guesses. It's far better to spend the cost of lunch at McDonalds and run it over a CAT scale. That way you have the real information. It's always better to go on facts ....
