Have a 6' tape measure in the bag with the tools for the jack and hitch. Grab tape and the three wrenches. I use the Airstream supplied manual speed wrench to take up the slack or loosen and then the PP supplied ratchet to fine tune. At least I get some arm exercise in the process. If there is unusual resistance in the screw jack, I can feel that with hand tools where a power drill might cause damage. I found a lonely combination Craftsman 15/16" box wrench in a closeout store I use for the over center locking nuts. Great leverage as it is maybe 14" long.
I also carry a half dozen spare spring retainer clips in case some one borrows a set while I am away.

I have to admit that I have not read every post in this thread, but it’s time to join the Propride Club. I bought a 2019 F250 Platinum and my wife ( and I) was uncomfortable with the loose and wandering feeling when towing our FC25FB with its Blue Ox SwayPro. We towed with the SwayPro for 30,000 stress free miles behind our Titan XD Diesel. After trying everything possible to make the SwayPro work with our new F250, we decided to try a ProPride. We bought a used hitch after a conversation with Sean stating he fully supports buyers of used hitches.
Yesterday we installed the hitch. Today we test drove various weight distribution settings 6”, 6.5”, 7”, and found our sweet spot at 6.5”. My wife stated that with the ProPride at 6.5” of weight distribution it now feels like the truck is in control and not being pushed around by the Airstream. That is exactly what we hoped to accomplish with our newly installed ProPride!

AirMiles, that exactly what I found out on my rig. The ProPride flat made the whole setup ride much better. Admittedly my Tacoma is a bit light for the 22 International, but now it rides like its on rails, assuming I have the WD set right. It's easy to tell if its wrong, DW gets seasick from the porpoising on the front of the truck. A bit more tension on the jacks cures it, around 1/4 to 1/2 inch or so.

Thanks! I have thought about getting a friend with welding equipment to shim it up with some sheet steel. I can't think of any reason not to do that, and it would be a lot lighter (and cheaper).

AirMiles, welcome aboard the PPP train. You will have no regrets. May I encourage you to do two things?
1. Carefully read through installation manual and second check everything. Especially, centering the rear yoke bushing. Check all fasteners tight again after maiden run.
2. Go back a couple years in this thread and read to date to just immerse in the corporate knowledge available. Skip the ranting and comparisons. I was on my second PPP when I did this all the way back, and learned a lot.
And Sean is the best.

I've been reading through this thread. I read about 700 posts from the beginning and about 700 posts back from the end and learned some tips that I wanted to try.
So today I did a double check and tested the tips. Found the 250# bolts were way looser than expected. I bought the hitch used and thought they were torqued by the previous owner. Torqued them to 150# (max of my torque wrench) and then gave them another 1/4 turn with my 30" breaker bar with all the strength my 240# body could muster. (Used the thread tip to jamb a chisel to hold the bolt). Also read that the yoke was supposed to be tighter against the frame bracket forks than my first attempt. Tightened the frame bracket bolt below the yoke so there was just enough space for the yoke to move up and down but barely any sideways motion. Also tried a few different washer arrangements, but preferred the weight distribution from two washers at 6.5". The test drives were done in 17 mph crosswinds, which is pretty stiff for a non-hurricane Florida day. I was completely satisfied with the towing performance of my rig in these winds with the Propride. Another successful Propride installation!

Strongly suggest getting a 250 foot pound torque wrench to be sure about torque on those bolts. They are holding the very important bits together.
Harbor Freight one is good enough. Just set to zero when not in use.
The frame bracket bolt is critical. Centering of that bracket is also important. Check it occasionally to assure good sway control.

rmkrum, I just re-read the ProPride instruction manual about the tightness of the 3/4" yoke bolts. It states: "Tighten the 3/4” Bolts VERY TIGHT. These bolts MUST BE TIGHT. Torque to 200-250 ft-lbs. Repeat on both sides of Yoke."
I'm a healthy 6'5" 240# guy with a big 3/4" drive breaker bar that tightened these bolts about as tight as humanly possible without a cheater bar. I certainly reached the 200-250 ft-lbs of torque required on these bolts.
I appreciate your suggestions and will look into buying, or borrowing, a bigger torque wrench.

2' chunk o' pipe over the beaker bar, pull up 120# from a squat position, wa-la, baby. I dropped big washers between the bolt flats and frame so not to have to remove that cover again. Or go to local diesel repair shop and ask for $5 rental of torque wrench. 2' of pipe is a useful camping accessory somedays.

Yeah, I’m not a little guy either. I like the reassuring ‘click’ I get from the torque wrench when I manage to hit full torque on those big bolts. Even with a pipe cheater it’s sometimes a struggle to get them tight.
My Engineering OCD is happier when I can measure torque instead of trying for “as tight as possible” on critical parts. The toughest part was holding the bolt with one breaker bar whilst I jumped up and down on the torque wrench when I first installed the hitch. Best hard work I ever did-it tows perfectly now.

WARNING: Battery Strap as Stinger Carrier
I copied the idea of a previous poster and am using a battery carrier strap as a handle for my stinger. Yesterday I noticed that the heavy grade piece that grips the battery terminal which I bolted to my stinger is attatched to the plastic strap with a loop of lighter gauge steel sheet metal. The loop has torn about half way through. At some point in the future it would have torn all the way and dropped the stinger, probably on my foot.
If you have also copied the previous poster, or me, inspect your carrier carefully.

Receiver/Stinger Carry Handle
Here's my solution for a carrying handle for the receiver/stinger. $4 3" C-clamp from Harbor Freight. Balances pretty well and makes removal much simpler. Since I have the 2.5" shank version it weighs in at 55#.
