The unofficial pp users guide...

18-yr old daughter and 'over 21 three times and then some' self did in in a few hours with the help of a floor jack and a bottle jack to do the heavy lifting. Be sure to get the 250 foot-pound torque wrench, you will need it.

The instructions are good and fairly easy to follow. Read them first!

Nice. The head is like 100 lbs? I'd imagine that could be awkward to support while bolting it up.

Hence the floor jack. Once the ball is in and locked it's easier. Have grease handy as well to grease ball and bar sockets

Carefully follow the suggestion of mounting the hitch head. It will save your back! I installed the ProPride by myself.

We found the "u" brackets on the bottom of the frame jacks were really loose on the Classic frame rails. I chatted with Sean and he made two " thick steel plates with an indent in the middle on one side to fill the gap on our Classic's A frame. A few love taps with a hammer were necessary on one side to align the indent up with the locking bolt.

We also had to modify the round rub rails on the jack stands so the propane tanks' cover box would not rub on the jacks and trim the shoulders on the flat plates of the jack stands to allow access to the battery box. These modifications were approved by Sean.

I might be able to add a few more washers to get a slight downward angle to the stinger (like my Hensley Arrow stinger was slightly bent by CanAm for the Mercedes to help preload the WD arms with less cranking).

If you follow Sean's instructions EXACTLY you won't need a floor jack to mount the head. Stinger gets built, put in the TV receiver. Slide the head on the Stinger and then back into the trailer and lower tongue on the Head ball. Piece o'cake.

Very helpful guys!

I emailed Sean to see if he can include these 1/4" spacers.

So far the tools required for the install I gather:

1. Full socket/wrench set.
2. Heavy duty torque wrench (250 lb ft)? And/or breaker bar.
3. Hammer.
4. Possibly floor jack.
5. Dremel to possibly trim some edges.
6. Do I need to drill anything, and if so, what size drill bits?
7. Wheel bearing grease.

EDIT: Sean just emailed me and said the metal plate spacers are now included with all 3P's. He also said there is no need to trim any metal, just to move the jacks back.

No drilling needed as I remember just jumping on wrenches. A piece of cardboard to lie on helps

You "can" lift the "ProPride" head by raising trailer bow then using ramp to set the head higher, then lower the bow onto the "head", latch up then Raise bow.

Of you have a "creeper" or furniture dolly, you can move to place the head more precisely and repeat she steps above.

To tighten the hitch stinger, tighten until as tight as possible. Then take to a big truck shop and ask them to properly tighten... The boss will probably help to do it cheaply... Of course, having your own impact capable of proper torque is not a bad idea in case you need to loosen and refine adjustment in the future.

You can set the angle using proper washer stack enabling good "preload" of the weight bars.

We had to have the jack stands as far forward as the instructions allowed for the future battery box that was to be made to go against the front skin of the trailer for the four Lifeline 6ct batteries. It was all a very tight fit on the "A:" frame.

That's why you install stuff yourself to know it's done right. The American service industry has gone to hell in a hand-basket. No one gives two craps about your equipment or doing a proper job.

I'm doing my routine maintenance in my hitch. This time, however, I removed the weight distribution bars. It's amazing how much force this little retainer disks have to withstand. They take some beating...
