My 19 year old daughter helped install. She's not into lifting, so we used a jack to make it easy. Me, I like to work smart, not hard. My back is not good enough to pick up the heavy bits myself. It was easier with the lifting tools.

I decided to get the instructions for a good read, they were in the last box I opened!

My friend is going to come over next week with a trolley jack, i have the 2x4 already. Should be fun

Follow the instructions EXACTLY and you won't need a floor jack. Paraphrasing, build the stinger, mount it on your tow vehicle, slide the head onto the stinger, lower the trailer onto the ball head. There are other steps but if you do it the way Sean has laid out in the manual you won't need any jacks, wood blocks, etc. Just the tools to tighten all of the bits together. Oh, and one really large torque wrench to get to 250ft lbs on a couple of the bolts.

We were far from home when we decided our Andersen hitch wasn't all it was cracked up to be. So we had a former Airstream dealership in Tucson install our ProPride for us. Very experienced Airstream mechanic, he used the method ghaynes755 described above, no jack needed.

Ok, got the hitch on last night. It needs some adjustment - I have the shank one notch too high...

My big question is with chains. My stock ones are too short. I need to source some locally but all i can find are 5000lb rated chains. I assume 2 of them will be 10k lbs and I should be fine. Right?

Yes, imo. Some say each chain should be rated to trailer gvwr, but I don't believe that is what trailer manufacturers do, nor have I seen that in any print from RVIA or other regulating bodies.

You can add to your existing chains. Propride has a kit, or you can source locally. Just be careful of your chain rating and connector type and rating. Farm and tractor stores are a good source

Ok, great. I clearly need to order the extension kit, but I am supposed to be rolling out today for the weekend (50 miles!). I will get the 5klb chains locally for the weekend as it is only $20.

IIRC, I added 6 links and a "quick link". All rated at 5000#
