Our 10 year old daughter suggested that to us (and I don't think she's been reading this forum) and it works well. I also use them to cover the greasy part of the trunnion bars when I remove them; keeps me clean and them clean.

A mechanical engineer friend of mine have been using square pieces of aluminum foil for years. Says it works great. Just keep a small supply of pre-cut foil available for each time you hitch-up.

I know that the teflon covered balls exist but I cannot find them. Searched the internet but still know luck.
