Sway Bar Advice Needed.

Have an Equal-i-zer sway control system (Equal-i-zer® Hitch - The “American Original” with 4-Point Sway Control™ and Weight Distribution) and noticed that the trailer is tilting forward a bit as the sway system connection point is lower than that the tucks hitch. Should I be concerned that there is too much weight on the front tires/axle? Really like the sway system, but want to make sure that we are not setting ourselves up from trouble down the road.

I think you need them to be level. Do you have an adjustable hitch that can be raised to level it out?

it reads like a LOT of issues are possible...

without more details.

basically the trailer tongue SHOULD be a tad low...BEFORE the w/d is tensioned.

once tensioned the w/d will RAISE the trailer tongue.

HOW MUCH?

depends on a lotta things (bar rating, receiver/ball heights, stinger drop, tv suspension ...)

along with pix, the rig really needs to be WEIGHED to know if the w/d is properly adjusted.

measurements can be made at the front/rear of the stream and 4 corners of the tv...

but that's still only an indirect assessment of w/d.

Sounds like your weight distribution bar is not set correctly. Try parking on a level surface and readjusting the chains for the W.D. bars. Thisshould level the trailer and tow vehicle out together. The sway control chould'nt cause them to be out of level.

We've got an Equal-izer hitch and it works great for us...

If the trailer is to low in front, you've got to adjust the hitch on the 'L' shaped shank, most likely...try moving the hitch UP one set of holes on the Shank - It's easy to check your trailer for 'level' running by using a tape measure up front and aft along the lower to the ground...

When set up properly, that hitch is the easiest to hook/unhook, and the ride is great with out particular rig - we have 1K bars and about 875# tongue weight...
