We've got an Equal-izer hitch and it works great for us...
If the trailer is to low in front, you've got to adjust the hitch on the 'L' shaped shank, most likely...try moving the hitch UP one set of holes on the Shank - It's easy to check your trailer for 'level' running by using a tape measure up front and aft along the lower to the ground...
When set up properly, that hitch is the easiest to hook/unhook, and the ride is great with out particular rig - we have 1K bars and about 875# tongue weight...
