Thumbs up Reese warranty - great

Traveling in Canada, weight dist bar snaps in two after crossing the boarder, after picking up the pieces I saw the head where the bar goes in had a broken keyway.

Drove 350 miles with one WD bar, not too bad at 55mph, get the campground.

Called tech support, they are replacing the WD bar and head at no cost shipped FedEx from their Canadian dist warehouse.

No hassel

It would have cost $300 plus shipping.

How did it tow with only one bar? Did it feel weird in any way?

Just wondering how old the bar and head was?

Although I know you are happy with their warranty and customer service, hitch parts should not break in normal use. It was "normal use" wasn't it?

I got them in Jan '07, but have maybe 60,000 miles on them

Agree they shouldn't break, and the tech guy said it is rare??

Normal driving slowed down going into town doing 20mph, making a right turn the driver side snapped.

But what ever happened to the cast parts had to happen a few minutes before.

Hard to say if the sway bar broke first and as it fell it broke the keyway or the other way around.

This is reminding me to take a closer look at ours tonight. I haven't done that in a while. Thanks.

Sure do that, remember the head needs grease but the cams do not, they only get a very light, VERY lite coat of vaselene
