Pulling 34 foot Panamerica

So I installed Equailzer hitch 10000 pound with 1000 pound bars on my 2009 Panamerica being pulled with a 2010 dodge 3500 diesel single rear axle. finally got it set up right and bars can be put on and off just using trailer jack now. I have never pulled a trailer with a equalizer hitch before and was it ever nice. I was going 110 km/hr no problem and getting 11-12 mile a gallon going against wind. On way home with wind behind me I was getting 12-14 mile per gallon and was even easier. I could see how you could forget trailer is behind and brakes really can slow down rig fast if needed. I pulled about 180 miles today and could easy have went another 180 if I wanted very calm pulling I can see how people put lots of miles on these trailers with this set-up. I have 8 weekend races so far this summer and a 2 week vaction down to the states planned so I should put on a couple miles this summer.

Great to hear that you, your tow vehicle, and the Panamerica have reached a harmonious equilibrium.

Now, how about s bunch of nice juicey and clear photos? I have not seen much on this rare gem of a trailer, and your TV sounds interesting too!

I don't think I could forget I had a 34 footer behind me.

What kind of toys ride along and what kind of races?

Nice rig. I tow with a single wheel Dodge diesel 3500 also. Goes to show you that once you get to speed they will tow so nicely but there is always that weight behind you. I find mine to be a pleasant and relaxing tow also but I always know it's back there.

Wishing you many safe and healthy miles. See ya along the road sometime.

I guess the reason I find it tows so light is the picture with my truck has my work skid steer blower set-up that weights about 15000 lb. Even with fifth wheel trailer that load is a heavy to pull. Airstream feel light after that.

I think that the real answer is that the "Airstream IS light after that!"

Like the old line, " what weighs more a ton of bricks or a ton of feathers ". It's all relative but first time I've seen mentioned an 8,000# AS referred to as LIGHT. But as compared to what he has been towing ..... I get it.
