ProPride 3P Hitch Installation Registry

On at least one recent thread a new owner of a ProPride hitch was having trouble installing, and adjusting his hitch with satisfactory results. He even enlisted several bystanders at his current camping area, with no success, so it was obvious they did not understand the system either.

While the ProPride is not especially difficult, it is a little different than the average weight distribution hitch with simply two bars and two chains, and it does take a little understanding of how the draw bar setup works with the hitch to establish the correct angles for resulting good weight distribution.

Toward the end result of establishing a sort of "network" of experienced and qualified helpers, or installers if you will, maybe a "registry" of such individuals across the country would be a good idea so more new users of this outstanding hitch would have good success from the beginning.

And, to this end, I would like to list my name as a contact for such service in the central Texas area. If you feel competent and willing to help others in your area, maybe you will want to add your name here also?

All Installed

Everything went together easily this morning and a couple of test hookups using my backup camera went perfectly. I haven't towed yet since I ran out of time before meeting a friend for lunch. I did find that I will need to raise the stinger one more hole than the calculated setting to make the trailer ride level.

The only problem I have is that the U-bolts for the frame bracket are under the propane tanks and I will need a spacer of some sort to prevent wearing slots in the aluminum tanks. The tanks set right on the frame. My first thought is to cut two circles out of some scrap 1/2" marine plywood I have in the shop, mark the U-bolt location from underneath, and cut a slot with the sabre saw so that the circles will lie flat. The tanks will then be sitting on wood and not touch the U-bolts. How did others address this problem? If anyone has a magic solution I would be glad to hear it.

Just ordered my PP. Not taking delivery until after Thanksgiving. I am in Fredericksburg, Texas and will offer my services to help others as well. Installation does not look too difficult after reading all of 2air's posts.
