New Shank ? TV
Recently purchased a new TV, 2020 Jeep GC with tow package, Sting Gray ( old TV: 2014 Jeep GC with after market hitch, white) towing a 22FB Bambi
The new hitch port is 4 inches higher than the old. Added a drop shank to level Bambi. The new shank is 3 inches shorter ( horizontally) , meaning the hitch ball is 3 inches closer to the TV. all looks level, (photo) handled well on a short test drive.
Will this cause any issues?
Towed with my old Jeep almost 15,000 miles no issues.

As long as you can make full turns without the rear corners of you Jeep hit the front corners of the trailer you are good. The shorter distance to your TV is desirable as it creates less weight on your Jeeps rear axle as well. Not that this is an issue with a Bambi's hitch weight.
Based on your photo's, your setup looks good.

I agree that the shorter the shank the better. When CanAm set up mine, they actually drilled a new hole in the shank so the ball would be as close to the rear axel as possible. I tow a 30 with a 2014 Jeep GC and currently have about 200,000k on it. No negative towing issues.

Less weight then the 22’Bambi, the JGC makes for a comfortable ride for my 16’ Bambi

The new setup looks a lot better to me than the old. The closer to the bumper of the tow vehicle, the better.
Don’t be afraid to play with the tension. In my experience with an Eaz-Lift setup, one can really optimize handling and stability through small adjustments. Having said that, I don’t have any experience with the Equal-i-zer hitch.

Thanks for the info
Thanks to all for the affirmation on my set up. Good observation to Albert on the Equalizer,( I should have included that info in my request) Dave

It's close to dialed in.
To my eye the trailer looks a bit high in front and the TV a bit low in back.
Since you have an Equalizer hitch, I'd try going one hole lower on the shank and add another washer to the rivet.

That could be a bit of an illusion. The best way to tell if it is level is park it on a level spot and use a carpenters level on the floor of the trailer.

Interesting
Mollysdad, thanks for the reply, I do believe it may be an illusion from the way the photo was taken. Contractors level is very close and measurement by tape is within 3/4 of an inch between Front and back.

Front to back level is not critical on a single axle trailer. As long as there is a proper amount of tongue weight, the angle of the trailer doesn't matter. However, level, or close to it, does look a lot better traveling down the road.

I don’t agree with your assessment if the single axle trailer weight is not distributed evenly this will be seen as a leaning to the rear or front of the trailer, to the rear is dangerous as well as excessive tongue weight can lead to porpoising.

That is why I said "... as long as there is a proper amount of tongue weight". It is also pretty near impossible to wind up with excessive tongue weight on a 22ft, single axle trailer, resulting in porpoising.
