i see sean u plan to use more subtle colors than a-c orange?
one of the negatives with the haha is how easily the paint fades and chips.
sure, we bash and whack on them and so on,
but the paint seems really fragile, even though it's thick.
have you given any thought to powder coating or galvanizing or 'rhino/line-x ing'
something (anything) more sturdy and durable than paint?

While the orange was a good marketing gimmick to launch the haha in the beginning I think it has worn out its welcome for a lot of people.
They tell me that IF the steel is treated properly before powder coating I won't have the problems the haha has. This is one issue I am going to pay particular attention to because I know it has always been a haha complaint.
I met a guy at the RV Pro aftermarket show in INDY last April that had a special coating similar to Rhino lining. I may look him up again. He could mix any color. In his demo he could bang on a piece of steel with a hammer and the stuff wouldn't chip or even mark.
a real turn off for me and many others is the testimonials.
the ' almost died, but i was saved' stuff is fine in movies like 'o-brother where art thou'...
and i know first hand how dramatic the towing experience is with a haha...
we users can get pretty enthused about reporting how great the thing works.
but still i almost didn't get one just because of the fingernailonthechalkboardgrating testimonials....
i'm sure you've given thought to the messages in your marketing approach.

Well, a certain number of testimonials are necessary because there are some people that believe testimonials more than the actual company information. That said, I also think the video was a little overboard on testimonials.
My approach is more of explaining the towing equipment options that are available and being a professional resource for my customers. I understand and respect the decisions of some people to choose a different option from what I may offer. Unlike some at the haha company, I don't believe that the haha is the only way to tow safely. There is a good, better and best in every category of product. And the good, better and best changes according to the person using the equipment and the way that person uses it.

We went to see a Hemsley hitch today to see how it works....it looks pretty complicated and hard to hook up. Will the new hitch you are making be easier to use? pj

PJ, it looks like a complicated mess when you first see it but it really isn't once you "get to know it."
The new design will be a bit easier to hook and unhook because we have changed the angle on the hitch bar wedges and the internal hitch box so that they will not become stuck together as easily.
