Need New Drop Hitch Bar?

Hi Everyone!

After much deliberation about which new truck to buy, I bought a new 2016 F150 4x4 Crew cab.

What I would like to know is do I need a new 'drop hitch' or can I use the same one I currently have for my old 2010F1504x4 Crew Cab?

The biggest difference is I now will have 18" Tires instead of the 20" on the current F150.

Thanks again

While empty, measure from the bottom of the truck receiver opening to the ground and compare between the two trucks as a starting point. Note that both trucks should have a full gas tank for comparison purposes.

The changes in the springs between the model years may impact how much the new truck squats under load as compared to the older vehicle. Most drops are in two inch increments which can become problematic in getting the trailer level with the weight distribution hitch systems.
