Which model Reese Hitch for Bambi 19'?

If anyone out there is using a Reese weight distribution hitch with sway control on a Bambi 19', is a satisfied customer, and know which one it is, I would really appreciate the information! We are checking out models 67509 & 26000, and if either of these work well for you please let me know.

We ordered the Reese Straight Line Hitch which was highly recommended by many here, but according to service manager this is to heavy of a system for this trailer and he is not comfortable installing it. Would still like to know if other have used this hitch with success on this size trailer, and if there were any problems with install. Do you have to move the Bambi gas line to install this?

If using classic dual cam system with U bars, will they interfere with LP tanks tho?

Equalizer brand is another high quality system that appears not to use these U bars, is there anyone with a Bambi using that set up that could recommend?

We are towing with a Tundra, which has tongue weight rated 500lbs and 5000lbs trailer weight. The 19'Bambi has tongue weight of 425lbs and dry weight of 3770lbs.

Thanks again for all information from previous posts reguarding this, as you can see I am getting close but not quite there yet and would appreciate more input here as we now have our trailer but no hitch!

Thank You all So Much!

Barbara

While not an exact match for your Bambi, my '78 Minuet is 19' 3", has a gross trailer weight of 3,100 pounds and a gross hitch weight of 550 pounds; and I use the Reese Strait-Line 600 Hitch (#66072) with the mounting kit for 4" or 5" trailer frames. My hitch was ordered before the High Performance Dual Cam was introduced so it has the traditional "U" bolt mounting system. The information about this hitch can be found at:

Reese Strait-Line 600 Hitch System

Good luck with your hitch setup!

Kevin

We used the Reese hitch system with our Bambi. We used friction sway with it. We also used the same hitch system with the 25' Safari, however we changed to the dual cam HP. I think Reese is a great hitch system.

You can go to www.reeseproducts.com or www.reesehitch.com for more details.
