Los Angeles/OC/Riverside Hitch Installers?

If anyone knows of and has good experience with a hitch installer/fabricator who you think might be able to do more than just "out of the box" hitch installation, let me know. I live in Palm Springs area, but can easily travel to LA, Orange County or Riverside area.

I am needing to get a receiver installed and reenforced on my new Chrysler 300.

I wish I could help but we had a hell of a time even finding someone to do a slightly complicated out of the box install. I tried to do it myself but the hitch did not line up perfect with the holes so I had to take it somewhere that had something to spread it out a bit wider. I tried 4 different places that said they could do it and then failed. All of this before ending up at a Pepboys of all places... We were there getting tires and noticed a sign that said we install hitches... I was shocked.

Good luck with your install.

I appreciate the comments Crabby. I think maybe the "hot rod and custom car" guys might be a place to look. Those guys can do ANYTHING.

You might contact General Muffler at 1202 N Glassell in Orange.

When we ran into this need in Tucson AZ, I found a quality welding shop (specializing in truck suspensions) that was willing to reinforce the factory hitch. The owner of the shop set a prerequisite to doing anything: he reserved the right to choose the exact method of strengthening, since his shop would be carrying the responsibility for a failure.

I agreed to that, and the end result was a very expertly strengthened hitch, with gussets and plates in the right places, along with far better welds than the factory had supplied.

You won't find many shops advertising themselves as hitch fabricators anymore, but a specialist shop with Master Welders and a Welding Inspector on staff is where I'd go again.

I assume you have your hitch installed, but if you are still looking, you might try Redlads Truck and RV in Redlands...motorhome guys, but they know everybody in the area. Or Los Angeles Airstream in San Gabriel. Wonderful people, beautiful store...worth the trip just to see their place. Check with me in a week...they are installing my hitch this week!
