how to measure the ball height?

so i changed my hitch receiver on the truck and now my ball seems to be lower... so i'm not sure how to measure the correct ball height...

the specs on the trailer say hitch height 17.75"... now is that top of the ball, middle or bottom of the ball?

thanks!

thanks, i do limit my searchest somewhat in time... that thread did help me.

i measured on flat asphalt ground, the height on the a-frame and the rear bumper (i guess that would be the two points to determine the level...

the look (slightly leaning forward) confirmed by the measurement... the back is about 1 1/2 inches higher...

so i'm moving my ball up one inch (the smallest increment i have) and i hope it will be level...

am i doing the right thing?

thanks!

You might have to go more then one inch to get it level. The wheels are not in the center of the trailer so it is not an inch for an inch adjustment. Getting it right might take a few adjustments, but it's worth the time to get it right.

I raised my ball 1", the smallest increment availible.

Now the back is slightly lower, less than one inch difference between front and back... I guess there is not much else I can do... Am I getting paranoid about leveling the trailer?

Thanks

"Paranoid" ...........never! I prefer to call it meticulous..I'm the same way! lol Theres no gray area, just right and wrong with me.

By the time you load your TV, it'll most likely level out.

But what's it gonna be when your truck is loaded up with all the catfood, cables and corona?
