My ProPride stinger is a candidate for a two handed grab with gloves and left carefully. When we travel, it stays on the truck or we stay hitched. Disconnected more than 24 hours I pull it out and either stash it in the truck bed it in the garage. It's heavy, but I'm still in decent shape that I can lift it, install it, then take a 30-minute break to catch my breath...😀😀😀

Sometimes I'm so cheap it's embarrassing ...this is a "pony clamp" available at your local hardware store thru the empty hole on the top of my ProPride. Not so visible is a few inches of clear plastic hose split end to end to enlarge the "handle" comfortably....

Did I mention that the ProPride stinger makes a handy anchor for one end of the extended awning...just set it out on a 45 degree and connect with an ORANGE ratchet strap...

No, it's not cheap, it's a darn clever and frugal solution that I've been looking for!

Great idea, and I'm going to respectfully steal it😀😀😀😈

When I first read this I thought you were going to say it made a handy boat anchor. 😜

As others have said, it wouldn't work with a ProPride but I've used a nylon tie-down belt, looped through a hole on the stinger with a section of hose for a handle. Why I ordered mine at 2.5" instead of 2" with a reducer for the receiver is beyond me - so this is a pretty heavy unit! 😃

I don't even want to try to lift the darn thing with one arm. Having tendons snap like broken violin strings isn't my idea of fun. I've used my strap, but it bugs me that I always end up rust covered, so I'm going to see if I can find an old paperboy's bag to contain the rusty stringer while I'm hoisting it into the truck bed or the Airstream's garage.

I simply put a baggie with a rubber band around it over the greasy hitch ball the minute I uncouple and don't take it off until the minute I am ready to back under the coupler. Been doing this for years and it works for me. Tennis ball kept falling off and became more of an irritation than a help. I use the hitch grip when my back is bother me, otherwise I pick it up with my hands.

Hey guys;
Like most of you, I have a Hitch Grip, for my tow ball/shank assy. and I found the following warning to pass on to you.
DO NOT USE IT WITH A 'REESE' INTERCHANGABLE BALL HITCH. The ball rotates on a bearing shaft, (which is a good thing), but CAN rotate and fall off the Hitchgrip. It missed my toes by two inches.
BE ADVISED!

I tried to use a reducer with my Equalizer when I traded trucks and the new one had a 2.5" receiver. Way too much slop in it for my comfort. I bouth a 2.5" drop shank, but the bad news is the Equalizer head with the 2.5" shank is really heavy. I was thinking of getting a ProPride just to leave most of the hardware on the trailer. How much does a 2.5" Propride stinger weigh?

Thanks,

Al
