Hitch replacement?

We are renovating a 1971 Int'l., 31'. Is it recommended to replace the original hitch with a bulldog type hitch? Thank you.

Many times on a trailer that old the hitch coupler will need replacement, but I've not heard that a Bulldog is specifically needed or recommended.

There is at least one thread around here on BULLDOG Couplers. A good discussion.
