Hitch for 2017 Classic

Interested in thoughts on a hitch for 2017 Classic.
I tow with a chevy 2500 diesel. Pro-Pride type hitch not an option at my storage yard. Dealer sells both Blue Ox and Equalizer. I have had Blue Ox with no issues. Service tech at dealer says he like Equalizer, but its noisy. Anyone have experience with both or dealing with noise from Equalizer?
Thanks,
SS

We have the Equalizer and tow with the GMC 2500 diesel.

For the noise, a couple of things I'd say.

1) Make sure you use the lubricant on the hitch per the instructions. We had a lot of noise, especially while backing up before I caught on to this. It made a huge difference in the noise level. I apply before each trip and take it with me.
About $13/tube on Amazon, 91004250 Equalizer High Performance Lubricant.

2) When we switched from our Tundra to the GMC 2500, it required me to loosen things up one notch on the tension bars. I theorize that cut down on the noise a bit, and of course made it a lot easier to get those bars onto the L-brackets.

I'm pretty satisfied with the Equalizer, but don't have experience with the Blue Ox to make a full comparison.

I use the BO on my 25FC with no noise issues. It's a good hitch if set up properly

Hi ,
We just got our 2017 AS CLASSIC.
We pull with a 2017 Nissan Titan XD.
We use the Equalizer trailer hitch.

We got our 2016 23D back in September and it did make quite a bit of noise on our Equalizer. We bought the 'sleeves and it helped slightly, then got the lube and she's all quiet and happy. No more cringes whem making turns lol. We love the equalizer

We have used a Blue Ox for a couple years with our RAM 1500 pulling our 30' International and I couldn't be happier! Easy to take on and off, no problem backing up with the hitch engaged and so far despite driving in cross winds and dealing with semi's I've never felt any sway issues. Feels rock solid!

10 years and running on an Equalizer - does a great job on our 27ft. FC at interstate speeds with wind, trucks, buses, etc.

Go with the Blue Ox. It is a much better hitch.
I went from the Equalizer to the Blue Ox and have been using it two years now.

Though I have no experience with other hitches, the blue Ox has served me well. Simple to install, easy to hitch and unhitch, and provides a smooth and stable ride. Also, the customer service is fantastic!

Equalizer Works Great

Lots of good hitches out there. We didn't want to overbuy. Equalizer was very economical and sway bars have worked great. Lubricating the hitch ball every couple weeks or after days of heavy rain keeps it quiet. I'm sure there are better hitches out there but for us, we didn't see that much additional value for the substantial extra cost.

Keep in mind that the noise is friction and friction is in important element of the sway control. While a very light lubricant can bring the noise level down or using the optional Equal-i-zer glides, it's a something that only occurs when turning at low speeds. Personally I don't have an issue with it and I think of it like a backup alert device. People pay attention as I'm placing the Airstream or pulling it out and that makes them more alert to me maneuvering. Hearing creaks, groans, and moans from various trailer hitches while at first may be disconcerting, you come to learn that it's the nature of the beast.
