I haven't been convinced on the 16" wheels/tires. I will probably get Michelin 15" tires next time. Have you given any consideration to the Airsafe hitch? I would rather spend money on stainless steel furnace and water heater covers and Airstream novelties like the Wanderlust- Airstream at 75 coffe table book.

First - congrats on the rig and ProPride. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Now - here's one guy's opinion. Again, everyone's mileage varies - but here's why I'm not going with the 16" Michelins and new axle. The Goodyear Marathons that will come stock on your trailer are designed for your trailer and rated for your trailer and not to exceed 65 MPH. Why on earth would you need to exceed 65 MPH?? For that reason alone, I stick with the GYMs. As always, I have no dog in this fight. Do what makes sense to you. Just sharing my $0.02 (probably not the most popular opinion, but there it is).

Good luck!

It's easy to spend other people money...

You may as well go ahead and order the Maxim skylight replacement for the stock unit that's going to crack and start to leak in a few years...

I'm installing mine tomorrow. (But my trailer is 8 years old.)

As I tow a 2005 bunkhouse with a Propride hitch I can congratulate you on making the 'correct' decision on hitch selection. It really does work very well in all conditions in which we have towed.

Does Foley have a silver MaxxAir cover for the Fantastic fan? I got tire covers for the December to May storage.

Heh, heh.....so true.... it's fun AND real easy to spend other folks money ! But, in fairness to me, he and I have had MANY pm's back and forth, and I have been, ( and I'm sure he will agree ) very forthcoming in my thoughts on this whole thing regarding where it's wise to spend money vs where it might make sense to save money.
He's a smart young fellow..... I'm sure he is going to do well in his decisions on all this.
Regarding the upgrade to, if not 16's.....at least to "LT" tires, I just have a real problem with these OE rv mfr's using what I will refer to as "junky azz ST china bombs". Flame suit on..... i know.....there are legions of ST users out there that think they are fine and dandy.....another topic for another day, I reckon....

Most surely you know the collective wisdom here does not consider your present financial ability.

True.

If I begin to debate "x" purchase on this site, rest assured it is in the budget....otherwise I will simply remain silent about.

don't most newer trucks have a backup camera in the tailgate?

I wouldn't buy one without it

There are dealers that have TTs set up to allow you to try different hitches...

I don't thank so. A camera is a special order option.

ARGH! No, the RAM trim lines frequently do not have a backup camera until you get up to a much higher trim....and those were (at this juncture in my life) too pricey for me...

I can however have one aftermarket installed.....which is what I plan on doing.

Would be nice to have the sensors that beep when stuff is behind etc...ill have to be VERY careful when moving the truck with children around...a backup camera is likely going to be installed very very soon...

that's too bad - my silverado crew cab has the camera in the tailgate, dealer showed me a trick of putting the cable around the latch so it hangs at a 45 degree angle and points at the hitch.

The back up sensors are disabled when the receiver is installed

RVS-770614-213 2 camera system | backup camera system | Rear View Safety

Neato...I can have in one system a camera for the back of TV and TT...

Where do these get power from? I can imagine for the truck, getting in through wiring that operates reverse lights would be easy enough...same for TV?

Oh, this may be for another thread I guess...but what the hell..

Truck screen powers all cameras. Our cameras all have night vision and infrared LEDS for illumination.

Also, I can unplug screen and store when not in use. All connectors watertight aviation grade.

The installer might have to run a video cable from front to back. I should take pictures of my setup and put on here.
