Hitch Ball size for 1971 31' Sovereign?

I had my Airstream delivered for me and it sits for now on a property I own.
I would like to adjust the position it's in and need to get the proper hitch ball size.
I know the ball height is 19" but am not sure about the correct ball size required.

my '73 uses a 2 5/16ths..I think that's what I'd try first....you can always return it.

Gotta love that Search function. I knew Kevin (overlander64) had made a definite statement on it before. The thread also includes appropriate Inland Andy wisdom. So I used keywords ball+size+kevin -- searches find keywords in the body of text, not in the left-side "Author" column.
