Hitch ball size

Just bought a 1976 AS international 31 ft. I need to know what size hitch ball I need to tow it home. Brand new to all this...thanks for all the help...I've read a lot of threads and hope I can acomplish it all. Kinda scarry...Thanks

Welcome...should be 2-5/16". Make sure you have a load equalizer hitch, brake controller and an adequate tow vehicle.

Would the 2 - 5/16 ball be the same for a Argosy 26 ft ?

Welcome to the forums.
Yes, it would be the same, unless somebody has hacked the old one off, and welded a different one in its place.

a 1963 Overlander uses a 2 inch ball. My 77 Sovereign uses a 2 5/16".

The switch to 2 5/16" was made about 1969. Be sure and get one with a 10,000 pound rated shank.

Many 1969 models had the 2", the switch seems to have been made late in the model year.
