Hitch ball height drop down - dodge ram HD

I am going to pick up my new Airstream tomorrow. I have purchased a ProPride hitch for it. Since the dealer is only 10 miles away, I plan to tow it home with just a ball hitch so that I can install the ProPride in the comfort of my level driveway. My TV is a 2003 Ram 2500 Quad Cab Diesel 4x4. The trailer specs say the empty tongue weight is 760 lbs. I am going on the assumption that this will lower the hitch ball about 2 to 3 inches from no load height. If this seems to be off, please let me know as i would prefer not disassemble the drop down at the dealers.
Thanks,
Ken

I would assume that as long as your top of ball height is at about 19" you should be fine. My hitch weight is 880 lbs and my truck drops about 2", my truck is f250 4x4 with an off road package.

Thanks for the reply, Bob.
I found a setting on the drop down that puts the ball top about 21 inches.
I think that it will settle in an inch from 19 one way or the other. So I'm going to go with that. I did put the tools in the back of the truck though. I am pretty excited to see it in the driveway after a two month wait.
Regards,
Ken
