Hensley jack assembly

So I have resisted the urge to use a electric drill/impact driver for 3 years now.
Not today. One try, one failure. I will look trough my manual, and I also remember reading about it on this forum. But if someone knows and has the fix I very much appreciate it. The top of the jack barrel has come unattached and the top sticks out and the hole unit is hanging to one side

I think I might have figured it out. I brought it all the way back up and found the set screw in the small hole and set it with an Allen wrench. Still did I do that right? Or is there more to it

I don't know if the Hensley is the same as the ProPride bit I've snapped the ProPride Jack twice. There's a roll pin that connects the gear. Replace that and your all good. If the Hensley is different I don't know how to help you. Good luck!!!

If the jack screw is coming out of the top of the jack the set screw in the afore mentioned collar is loose.

If the bottom part of the jack drops out of the jack assembly, the nut on the bottom of the jack screw has come off. (The nut uses left hand threads)

FWIW, the jack will work (meaning it will do its assigned duty) in a pinch while exhibiting either or both of these conditions.

Either or both are easy fixes though.

Gradiens super tenui glacie.

Flying Tulip,
You fixed the jack correctly.
I use nothing but an 18 volt cordless drill at each hook up.
