Hensley Hitch Parts
I have a Hensley Hitch and need a couple spring loaded retainer zerks. Hensley wants $16+ each for the zerks plus $40 shipping to send them to me. They charge what they charge....but I don't want to pay that much to have two small zerks shipped. Can any of you recommend an alternative source for the spring zerks. Thank you in advance for yr help. Mark

The jam nut, spring and zerk are standard components. The pin and body are specificly made for that application. I have made a few of my own...

Zerks
I can ship them USPS. The online store gives some odd shipping charges from time to time. It should only be a few bucks.

By the way, I can send just the tips by themselves if you need them.

HI, Ron -
My hitch is almost two years old and I'd like to have a couple of spares. How can I go about getting them through you?
Thanks - Pat

I just called and ordered a set. It's nice to talk to folks who try to be helpful.
Thanks - Pat

Pat, I agree with you!
I bought my trailer in June of 09 with a 15 year old Hensley Hitch attached. The right bar dropped out when I hooked up to take home. I called Ron at Hensley and bought new jerks to put back in. I have put over 7500 miles on them since then with no problems, then one fell out again this weekend when I unhitched at a rally. I called Ron yesterday to get another jerk and he looked up my records and said this should not be happening. He said to check the bushing that the bars go into and told me how to do it, but he would get new jerks on the way. I took the bolt out of the bushing and found that the weld had broken on the left side. Called Ron back and he is shipping me another bushing that cost only $20.
Where else in the US can you get someone to to service something that was bought by another person 15 years ago.?
What did a Hensley cost in 1995? This hitch I know has been to Alaska twice and probably has over 300,00 miles on it! Cost per year/mile has got to be low.
Regards,
Joe

This was my husband Mark's post and he's just now picking up our Airstream in Denver. I know he bought the part he was asking about, but thanks to everyone who responded. It's nice to know there's help out there. kc
