Hensley and 2500hd

Anyone on the forum with an 80's model trailer, Hensley Arrow and Chevy 2500hd? I recently bought an '86 25' Sovereign with Hensley hitch. The PO has pulled it with an '03 Ford F250 and is using a 6" drop hitch bar. According to my calculations, my receiver opening at the bottom is about 1 5/16" higher than the same opening on his receiver. He says his trailer is just a little up from level but not much. Anyone have a similar combination with either the 6" drop or the 8" drop" I'd like your input.

Craig, the bottom of the 2" opening of my '02 F250 4WD Supercab Longbed receiver is roughly 18.25-18.5" from the pavement. The hitch height specification of our '01 34 Limited is 18.75". The Hensley 6" drop bar is just about perfect for these.

Craig,
I have a 2005 2500 3/4 Chevy Suburban with a 1976 27ft Overlander. I just got the Hensley work sheet for my measurments. I will be happy to ask my customer rep any questions you may have. I have been impressed with Hensley's customer service! Maybe give them a call 800-410-6580.

With my F250 4x4, I use a 4 inch drop, and it is not perfect - 6 inches would have been better. With the current tug, a Chevy Kodiak with a 20 inch hieght, I have an 8 in drop, which is perfect - it tows better, and is nearer level than the 4 is, with the F250.

Thanks guys,
I am going to pick up the trailer this next weekend in GA. and will try the 6" drop for size. If it looks too high then I will get an 8" drop after I bring the Sovereign back to Tennessee.
