Hey there folks ,
So I finally got my AS home from the storage lot. I towed it hooked up to the bumper... I know its not safe but it was only like 12miles to home. But I noticed that there was no problem pulling it at all... I had some up hills that i thought was gonna be bad but it made it no problem. I tried putting on a reese tow hitch but it dosn't work I have to have it welded on. But I know that it if does not fit it was not meant to be on there so I'm still looking for a TV that can handle it. Enjoy these pics.

There are a number of bolt on Reese hitches that can be installed without welding if you got to the product selector. I took a look at S-10 pickups and found four that might work, unless you've modded out the rear end somehow.

That trailer, particularly empty should pose little issue in it's current state, but long term, I'd want a frame mounted hitch, and sway control.

augier: now that it's home the fun begins. Hope all goes well with the restoration of your new "60" Safari there in sunny Carlsbad Ca. It's nice to work on them year round. I know it has to be 80 in Carlsbad today or close to it.

It looks like the load on your S-10 was fairly light. Other than breaking several DOT regs it looks like your bumper handled the load well. But if you were in a panic stop situation...It would'nt be pretty. Get the TV and hitch situation straightened out, then add some safety chains and break-away setup before hitting the road agian. It will give you piece of mind and save you from a potentially expensive ticket, or an at-fault accident.

I had someone cut in front of me many years ago when I was coming into a toll booth on I-95. The pavment was wet and the trailer brakes did not actuate (company rig) because the brake connection wire broke inside the pigtail. I slide for what seemed to be an eternity and barely missed the jerk that was jockeying for the shorter line.

I did pinstripe the driver seat a lovely shade of Brown though.
